Once in a while i do get super excited with a launch *just kidding i live & breathe makeup*. Today's review is about such a launch and it comes from the iconic brand LAURA MERCIER. The products from 'COLOR STORY' collection landed on my desk around 2-3 weeks back and i have been enjoying them ever since. *Spoiler Alert* I LOVE EVERYTHING and could not be more excited to share my views with you guys.

The first thing that i have been loving from this collection is this lipstick, its from the Crème Smooth range, Laura Mercier released 8 new shades in this range and seriously they are sooo beautiful. The one i got is Dry Rose, its such a pretty nudish-mauve/rose shade, i have to be honest i generally do not venture out of the 'red zone' but with this one i had too. This looked amazing on my tanned skintone. Its got the right amount of pink in it to not make me look like a ghost. At the same time its nude enough for everyday wear. Its really pigmented and creamy. Does not have scent.
The lipstick goes on smooth without tugging. I love my mattes but once in a while there comes a shade which is way too pretty just to be judged on its finish. Ventured out of my comfort zone, i ended up falling in love. The texture is creamy smooth without being gloopy or sticky. Having said that the lipstick stayed on a decent amount of time (upto 4 hours with eating & drinking). It re-applies beautifully too. This color will suit almost everybody. Do check out the other shades in this range, they are definitely worth a swatch!
The second product with which i fell in love with is this highlighter, the moment i saw it, i was so stoked because the timing couldn't be perfect. Its such a pretty glow for SS time. This highlighter is a medium golden-bronze shade. And will look good on any skintone because of the beautiful sheen it has. Its creamy enough to glide on smoothly and stays put through sweat, i can vouch for that. Its a good alternative to all the pearl/champagne highlighters out in the market right now. The packaging is perfect and great for travelling. It does not have any scent whatsoever.
The final product that i liked but am really trying to love is this concealer which is comparable to Laura Mercier's Secret Camouflage in 'concealing-results'. This concealer is called High Coverage Concealer and OMG it does exactly that. The texture though has me on the fence, its way too thick for normal concealing areas. Its a good pigmented concealer though. The concealer is full coverage & gives an amazing finish. I do set it with powder though, generally the areas i tend to get greasy. Also apart from the normal concealing this is a good alternative for a corrector, because its potent enough to conceal all & any face demons! This concealer is water & sweat resistant.
What i did for my under-eye concealing is, i mixed this concealer with a lil foundation and then applied it, doing this made the consistency liquid enough to smooth over my skin and at the same time it gave me the highlighting that was much needed & a also provided me with the coverage which this concealer claims to have. This method of mine is the best way to use this concealer without having it look cakey on oneself. How this product dispenses is also an area of concern, the packaging looks good and is actually good but somehow not suited for this type of a product, the consistency is just not liquid enough for the tube to be able to dispense the product smoothly or evenly. However, the little pea-size bit that does come out after giving it the squeeze of your life is enough for covering both eyes and then some.
All said & 'tried' i love this collection and the concealer too. After being loyal to Mac Pro Longwear for years this concealer is a good change. Do look this collection up at your local Areej stores and also stand a chance to bag a cute & travel friendly brush set.
