SEPHORA PANTONE COLOR OF THE YEAR 'MARSALA' EYE PALETTE REVIEW+SWATCHES!

Exciting review today, its all about the Sephora Pantone Palette which was releases end of last year beginning of this year. This palette is still available on Ebay & Amazon and some Sephora stores in US. This palette is a hit and miss where the shadows are concerned. You get a mixture of finishes in this palette. The palette is a beautiful compilation but some shadows are def 'oh god no's' in my opinion. Lets see the swatches and whats inside. The packaging is beautiful btw. I kid you not that might have been a major factor as to why i got this palette apart from the Copper-Marsala shades.

This palette is smaller than all the other Pantone palettes from the years before. This is def half their size. But it packs a punch thanks to the beautiful marsala shades present in it. The finishes are shimmer/metallic, satin & matte and blend beautifully. The lighter shades are the ones i am not a fan off as they are more chalkier and flaky compared to the other shades present in this palette. The size of the individual shadow pan is another thing which i am not a fan off, they are way too small. A lil smaller than the Lorac pro palette shadows (for comparison). The packaging of the palette is beautiful though with Rose gold lid and a full size mirror. The bottom part of the palette which houses the shadows reminds me of the 'water color' pan palette that we all must have bought when we were younger. Pretty sturdy and snap-shuts beautifully.

The first row of shadows itself is pretty impressive, all the swatches are just one-two swipes and without a primer. The pigmentation of the lighter shades along with some matte shadows is not all that great. The 1st row has 3 mattes and 3 satin finishes and works beautifully apart from the 1 shade which is called Autumn Blond, that shade does not even show up on me. Shifting sand from the 1st row is a beautiful inner corner highlight. Both the MARSALA shades from this row are beautiful, one is matte and the other a satin finish.

The second row sees a mixture of finishes again. The mattes really standout in this row though. The matte shades Burro & deep taupe are beautiful as transition shades for neutral or smokey eye. The Olive and Kelp shades are also very unique and pigmented. The shades are really beautiful and blend very well. The Marsala shades in this row are satin and metallic with flecks of glitter, these two do not need much blending. The shadows in this row are def my fav as they cover a wide spectrum of color and are all beautiful to work with.

The 3rd row has some more shimmer and matte shades with one metallic/glitter shade called Moonlight Blue. The shade looks pretty in the pan but seriously does not translate with as much intensity on the lids. But with a primer its a beauty to have ones lids. Chutney shade in this row is another fav shade of mine, its such a pretty soft copper transition shade. Another nude transition shade here is called Macaroon and its the most beautiful creme-beige shade ever. I have been using these two shades the most. Butterum is another beautiful gold shade and blends really well on the other hand Desert Mist really needs a lot of work to get going. Nimbus Cloude is a beautiful silver with little silver specks of glitter in it.

The last row has some deep shades with a metallic shade in 'Castor Gray' which is mind blowing. Does not translate as bright on the lids without a primer, it really needs one for popping up. The last row has some good shades for deepening any look. The mattes and satins all really work well and specially the matte Hot Chocolate shade is beautiful for doing a brown smoky eye, its more softer than a grey-black smoky eye. All the shades blend well and stay on for long. They are extremely soft so a lil fall out can be expected. All the shadows in this palette work better over a primer.

PRICE: $39

QUANTITY: 24 pans *0.5 gms each

AVAILABILITY: (Limited) mostly at Ebay & Amazon.

This palette is not something we all need but its a good buy. If you are looking for a travelling palette that houses a lot of finishes and also a lot of variety then this palette is a good buy, i seriously cannot justify this palette for myself personally as a thing i needed, it was more for research purposes! :D All in all its a good investment and those red-copper marsala shades really take the cake for me. So rich and pigmented. If you do see this palette def swatch the shades you will fall in love. Until my next post.
