NEW SALLY HANSEN GEL NAILS!

Today's review is about the NEW SALLY HANSEN 'gel' nailpaints which are becoming quite a rage. A lot of brands are coming out with their version of Gel nailpaints which basically give the illusion of gel nails without having to go through the whole process of acquiring Gel nails. These claim to last long aswell. Now here is my thing with this new phenomenon, some brands have mastered this 'gel formula' and others not so much. Sadly the SH ones fall in the latter category. Another fact to be noted is that i am a 'house person' so i am always doing something or the other around the house (which is i am always washing my hands and all) so my testing also takes those factors into account that. Anywho lets get on with the review shall we.

Some famous gel nails which are currently available in the market are from OPI, ESSIE, BARRYM, CND & SALLY HANSEN. Obviously there are also some 'gel top coats' available wherein the top coat is gel and makes any nailpolish into a gel-finish. So these SH ones are new launches, there are a lot of shades available almost 40+ so something for everybody. The shades are all pretty and claim to last for upto 14 days. These are one of the best ones  from drugstore but one me personally they only lasted for 5 days or so before i saw some chipping. Now i know thats not that bad but seriously with my Seche Vite, CND & OPI nailpaints i have experienced longer wear-time. No hate for SH but i was left wanting more from the 'nail genius' brand. The one thing which i loved from this range was the top coat & the applicator/brush, which is fantastic for one-swipe applications. I loved the application.

The  GEL top coat which goes with this nailpolish is pretty good. Goes on smooth and really makes a difference. The gel top coat is the star for me in this range, i have used this top coat with other nailpolishes aswell and it really does a good job, not as good as Seche Vite but good enough. The two shades i have are perfect for spring summer , one is a full creamy shade and the other a pearlescent shade. The satin shade with pearlescent finish shade i am not that fond of but it does not effect the performance of the shade, both of them go on smooth and are pretty opaque in one swipe.

REDGY/330 is a bright coral-red and is my fav kind of shade for this season- cheerful & bright. I have shown both the swatches with 1 coat of the nailpaint as i wanted to show the opaqueness of the colors. Pretty opaque right! So this shade will look good on anybody from fair to tanned to dark skintones. Its a full cream shade and is really smooth. My fav definitely.

Mad Women/500 is a satin shade with pearlescent finish. Now these finishes are not my fav as they do not compliment my skintone and specially in bright colors. The nailpolishes which are dark and have a pearlescent finish might look better but this one is a complete no-no. But having said that i also want to point out that it goes on really well and opaque just like the cream shade.

PRICE: AED43 Gel Color & AED45 Top Coat. Both for AED70.

AVAILABILITY: All major hypermarkets/department store & boots pharmacies.

Definitely give this range a try if you are a gel-nailpaint lover. Also they are easy on ones wallet so thats also a reason to test these out. Until my next post.
