By now i am sure most of your guys know that i am a perfume lover & hoarder! I am obsessed with perfumes, the more the better. They give me life! This also gives me an idea of doing a written version of 'my perfume collection'. What say? Anyways for today i have the pleasure of reviewing a new perfume from MILLER HARRIS called ROSE EN NOIR which landed on my desk around a month back! It is not a new launch (was launched in 2004) but def a new addition to my stash. Lets get on with the review shall we.
This perfume is called as the 'dark side of the rose', because instead of being full floral and light this perfume is powdery/herby dense with a hint of turkish rose. Turkish Rose sits at the heart therefore the whole fragrance is centred around that main ingredient. Also in my opinion this one has a nice powdery whiff to it, like it is dense but at the same time not the normal 'spicy dense', rose en noir is more herby, rose powdery fresh dense. It opens on a nice and very refreshing vintage note and dries down to a herby-rose scent. This scent falls under the floral-chypre category in perfumes.
NOTES
TOP: Raspberry, Violet Leaf, Lemon Leaf.
MID: Rose, Black Pepper & Nutmeg.
BASE: Ambrette, Vetiver, Patchouli & Tobacco.
I personally like wearing it during the day time because of the freshness. Also the staying power is amazing and so is the sillage. This is a very 'english' scent, if you know what i mean, nothing oud, spicy or oriental about it. If you are a fan of the vintage english scents this one is def for you. The packaging is amazing and so is the nozzle which is very fine so one does not have a drip-down. The rose, patchouli, lemon leaf & black pepper really pop through for me though. Its a good scent for old-world obsessed people like moi! At £55-£95 a pop this one is def in the luxury category which will make this perfume an excellent 'gifting' product. Hey Holiday Season is just around the corner too! ;D
