So lets talk about some drugstore makeup and a lot of it! This whole bunch is from RIMMEL and it features the new glosses from this brand in collaboration with Rita Ora. I have been collecting these things for a few weeks now and thought this was the right time to blog about them as i have a variety to talk about now. There are 2 new foundations as well which i will be blogging about in the coming week, so watch out for that. But for now lets talk about eyes & lips from rimmel..
So lets start of with the beautiful and eye catching colorful HD GLAMEYES Eyeshadow Palette in PINKADILLY CIRCUS, which houses a lot of neutrals and a pop of color in the shade pink. All the shadows have a satin finish and all compliment each other really well. The shadows though have a good pigmentation need a lot of blending & packing on. When swatched they really do come out great, sadly thats not the case when applied on the lids. On the lids one first of all has to go in with a primer and then pack the shades on. The lighter shades of silvery white & light frosty pink are almost identical when swatched. The stars for me in this palette were the bronze, taupe & the centre pink shade. One can def get a good look out of this palette but be ready to put in a good amount of time building & blending the shades. They are however much more easier than the bourjois ones in my opinion. So definitely check these out.
Now coming to the Lasting Finish Blush in MADIERA, this one is a beauty. I have been wearing it constantly since the time i got it. Its super pigmented and so fine in texture. The brush it comes with and the packaging i am not a fan of but i can easily ignore that because this blush is so perfect. The shade is perfect for this season and will look amazing on medium-dark skintones and on people who are rocking a tan this season. Its a burnt peach shade which i think is very hard to come by and specially in this season, because its a rarity that 'almost bronzy' shades of blushes are raved about. I personally think they look the best and really enhance our natural skintone. The blush stayed for a good amount of time, close to 5-6 hours, did not fade in that time. It blended well and went on smooth. Its full matte shade though. It does not seem to have any particular scent. All in all i think its a fantastic product. This shade has become my go to everyday blush.
The WONDER'FULL mascara is another product which is a new launch. This mascara i was really excited for and i do really like it but it def did nothing to volumize my lashes, this is more for lengthening. Its good for everyday length and definition if you know what i mean. It has a traditional mascara scent. Held up really well in this heat and humidity, which goes to show that with this formula rimmel is really onto something. The wand is pretty sturdy, plastic with small spikes which grip the lashes really well. All these good qualities and at a drugstore price i think its safe to say its a good mascara. The texture of this mascra is smooth and its semi-wet in consistency. The only thing which bothered me was the fact that it did not hold my curl for long and also that it did nothing for volume. Having said that i personally like this mascara because at the end of the day i do like putting on layers of it and that my friend this mascara does beautifully without clumping. It did not flake or anything. I do like it. Its easy to take off aswell.
These glosses are pretty good. These are the ones Rimmel has collaborated with Rita Ora for, OH MY GLOSS lip glosses. There are 8 luscious shades of these glosses which are available. The glosses smell somewhat fruity but they do not seem to have a strong scent and specially once on the lips you can't smell them atall. Thats a good trait. The texture is super soft and sticky but in a good way. Like they stick to your lips but do not bleed-out and don't create those godawful spider-lines when you talk. I have these in 2 shades Snog which is a beautiful nudish berry shade, it has micro shimmer in it so this one is more reflective than the other one which i have on hand which is called OOH LA LA, its a straight up jelly pink/red shade which is perfect for this season.
The glosses are supposed to have a 6-hr staying powder but i really did not see that happening with myself. The applicator on these is pretty amazing too, made appliying them real easy, the applicator is straight and flat. I find that such applicators make it real easy for me to apply liquid lip products with. The texture of these glosses i am in love with, even though i am not a gloss person. They make for good top-ups on my fav shades of lipsticks. Good formula and good consistency. All in all i really like this collection.
All the products i have reviewed today are amazing from the point of them being drugstore and more widely available. Some of them are definitely STARS for me and some not so much. Having said all that i have i also want to say that one, if you want too, can definitely get a good look out of this lineup.
