Hello everybody...hope you all had a lovely Holiday Season and a amazing NEW YEAR's! For the first product review of 2015, thought i would go with skincare, which is much required in my opinion after a season of partying and ignoring ones skin! *not judging gurl*. So i have been testing out MURAD skincare for a while now and i am a fan.
So i was sent these by the lovely maryam at @murad_uae in the month of December. The kit included samples of : Clarifying cleanser, oil-control mattifier, blackhead & pore clearing duo & some cleansing wipes.
Its been a good 3 weeks or so now that i have been using them and i loved every second of testing them.
1. MURAD 'Clarifying Cleanser':
This is a very gentle cleanser and a good change from my MURAD 'Time Release' Cleanser (i use that in alternation with my Bioderma cleanser & my Neutrogena cleanser). This is the only cleanser in the acne range which has 2% salicylic acid. This cleanser is said to reduce breakouts with continuous release of acne treatment, even after rinsing. It also has Silver Citrate in it to inhibit blemish formation.
Overall i love this cleanser more than my Time-release version, as this one somehow cleans my skin much better, without stripping my skin off its moisture. This lathers up beautifully and works like a charm with my clarisonic-mia. I have def seen a change in my skin and the reduction in my breakouts, also the frequency and the time duration of them have reduced immensely. It also has green tea & menthol to cool and calm the skin.
Two-thumbs up to this product. For sure would be purchasing this on my own & soon. Great for Acne prone and problematic oily skin types. This retails for 160/- aed.
2. MURAD 'Oil-Control Mattifier':
So when i opened the box and saw this i was very excited , and trust me it takes a lot for me to get excited. Here is a product which is is supposedly used for hydration but is also a 'oil control' mattifier. I have used this creme continuously and it really does the job of mattifying very well whilst keeping the skin hydrated.
The creme sinks in very fast and leaves the skin very supple and soft to touch. The texture of the creme is very easy to work with and makes application quite easy as well.
As far as the oil control factor goes it does the job extremely well and mattifies excellently too. It did not bring any change to my skin texture in all this time. It did not break me out either. Overall its a great alternative for a day-creme and would work wonderfully on people with acne/problematic skintypes. Its excellent to wear under makeup as well.
This retails for 199.99/- aed.
3. MURAD 'Pore Reform' Duo:
This product is very interesting and is the only one which gave me immediate results. This is a NEW launch for MURAD for this year. So as the name suggest its a 2-step process and is said to remove blackheads (major claim) along with sealing of pores as well. Its suggested to be used 2-3 times a week, or as one requires.
Step 1- Applying the blackhead remover mask for 10 mins, but i went in for 20. And washing it off with lukewarm water while exfoliating ones face. Now here is where it gets all interesting, while applying the mask i could feel the grittiness and the thickness of the mask, but having said that it went on smooth & spread over my skin so well. One of this sachet can be easily used for 2 time application. This mask being all gritty and creamy is an excellent exfoliant and that's one of the best part about this bby!
Step 2- The serum is more like an after treatment to the mask. The serum is so easily absorbed into the skin its impressive. One is advised to layer on this serum as opposed to rubbing it in. By layering on this serum one is ensuring that pores all over the face have a film of this serum on them hence sealing it and prevent grit & dirt from going in. This serum is also advised to be put on again after 12 hours to prevent future blackheads.
This DUO in my opinion is a must have in every girls skincare kit. The Mask is just too good to be true, its one of those products which gives instant result and leaves the skin all supple and soft like a new born's bum! :D The serum is just the icing on the cake, leaves the skin so hydrated and soft and gets absorbed in the skin so well. This one is also on my list.
The sample size was good enough to be used atleast 2 times each.
The DUO retails for 229.93/- aed.

I was really glad to receive them as they are supposed to be perfect for oily and acne prone skin. These cleansing wipes are advised to be used as it is but many bbloggers and makeupaddicts swear by these for makeup removal as well. I used these for normal cleansing and for makeup removal and it worked well. Nothing earth shattering. It does what it says. Its a great lil'thing to have in ones 'to-go' kit or in the purse. Amazing lil' product. This retails for 94.98/- for a pack of 30.
All in all i loved reviewing these MURAD products. It was kind of a perfect timing as the winter had just set in (Dubai, dec'14) and the party season had just started! Thank you +Murad Skin Care again for sending me these, as they are some great products and really do what they claim. I would advised all these products to anybody with OILY/PROBLEMATIC/ACNE prone skin. Def a great investment.
