So this is going to be a LONG post! I have a couple of products from RIMMEL which are new and just been launched in UAE. I have been collecting all these products for a post just like this, so you guys can get an overall view as to whats new in rimmel and how the products perform. Been testing these out for almost 3 weeks now so get a cuppa'tea and sit back.
The first 2 face products are a new RADIANCE BB CREAM & a new LASTING FINISH PRIMER. These two go really well together. I have tried them apart on diff bases and with diff foundations but my conclusion is that these 2 are perfect with other other. The BB cream is nice and smooth but i found it difficult to blend, it was way too patchy. The pigmentation on this is really good for a BB cream though. It stayed on long and set to a hydrating-glowy finish. Why i mentioned hydrating is because it did not make my skin stretchy or full on matte/flat, there was a lil bounce. My skin felt supple and soft. The texture of this bb cream is smooth and creamy. It also has an SPF but not enough for dubai sun exposure!
The next one on the list is this new LASTING FINISH primer, when i first used it it reminded me of the Maxfactor Facefinity primer. The texture is very similar and the consistency also is relatable. The only thing is that this one is not as effective on me as the Maxfactor one. I love the maxfctor one to death. This one though is good overall but nothing outstanding. Its a good base, don't get me wrong but it does not have that wow factor. Its a good buy if you are just venturing into primers and want to start with something less intensive. Its a good basic hydrating base. On me personally i did not see any pore-refining action or blurring effect. But yes i can see the appeal of such a product because of its creamy texture and hydrating qualities.
The last face product is this NEW LASTING FINISH compact POWDER FOUNDATION. This one i am obsessed with. Its really comparable to the famous Stay Matte compact powder from Rimmel. This one has more coverage though as compared to the stay matte one. It goes on well over this bb cream and adds more coverage because its a compact-foundation. I have used it on its own aswell and as a finishing powder in both forms its excellent. Keeps the shine away and is ultra smooth, really fine. Its a dual finish (wet&dry) foundation which goes on like powder but covers like a liquid. One can apply this dry for light-medium coverage or apply it wet for medium-full coverage which last upto 25hrs!!! I can't attest to the time-claim as i do not wear nor do i wish to wear makeup for 25HRS...but i can say that this lasted very long on me almost 7-8 hrs. I tried using the sponge that it came with but it was a waste of time, for me its best applied with the RT foundation brush. The drawback is that these are only available in 3 shades in this region (002/003/004). The missing numbers in between make me wonder if there are more variations available.
The last bits are both eye products which are new launches in this region. The new EXAGGERATE Smoke n Shine eye pencils are pretty dandy and handy. They are automatic eye pencils in 4 shades. These eyeliners apart from being automatic have a smudger sponge at the back which is attached to a sharpener! How clever and so travel friendly. The two i have are Little Black Smokey & Purple craze. They have gel-like smooth texture which makes it easy for me to draw a precise line or a cat-eye!
Both the liners are extremely smooth and glide on like a dream! On first application itself you will see how soft and creamy the texture is of these eye pencils. They all have a lil sheen to them which is perfect as then they can be used in the waterline aswell. They go on smooth and set to a semi-matte finish. The black one is an intense black and the purple is a warm tone purple with a lot of sheen. They come off easily though so that bit one has to be careful about its a good thing too but come'on in eyeliners i am always looking for long wear time as i anyways have very oily lids. They are good in the waterline but as eyeliners on their own they need a lil help. The staying powder is the one thing i did not care for in these products.
