Hello lovelies! This review is long pending and highly requested. Today i am reviewing the KAT VON D Liquid Lipsticks, which saw a huge launch here in the middle east last month. These lipsticks were available indirectly through various resellers at an exuberant price, so when the launch was announced it was such a relief. KAT VON D beauty is exclusively available at SEPHORA Middle East stores. I have picked up quite a bit from this range but for today its just the Liquid lipsticks and later on in the week i will be talking about other KVD products on my Blog. Lets get on with the review shall we...
So i was excited to be one of the many who was called in for a special preview of the KAT VON D beauty at Sephora Mall Of the Emirates store, the global Makeup Artist for KVD was also present and gave a lil speech. I could see other girls lining up and waiting to be able to go near the counter. I kid you not the sec the MUA left the KVD counter was flooded and LOLITA was sold out within minutes! I have never experienced anything like this in my life. The demand for LOLITA liquid lipstick and the CONTOURING PALETTE was beyond.
These are the 4 liquid lipsticks i picked up while at the launch and for the longest time after getting these and even now these are my go-to liquid lipsticks. These are world famous for a reason, everything about them is awesome. These 4 are diff not my only purchase from this line, i have my eye on Double Dare, Vampira & Bachelorette too. Will be heading to sephora this month end so fingers crossed! ;D
The shades i picked up are : LOVESICK, MOTHER, LOLITA & L.U.V. The first 3 looks very similar from outside but they are soooo different. Lolita being the superstar of the lot as its the perfect neutral shade and also the perfect Kylie Jenner lip dupe. So this was sold out within minutes like i mentioned earlier. So glad i picked it up. The other 2 shades are also very pretty and neutral-pink. The liquid lipsticks have a standard applicator which is pretty good and sturdy. The one thing which i love is that packaging, be it the outside or otherwise too. Outside packaging is very typical KVD, all tattooed up and goth. The best part for me is the length of the applicator wand, makes for an easy application, the fact that the tubes themselves are so slim one can always carry a lot. Travel friendly too. All these lipsticks leave a substantial amount of stain so reapplying is not always necessary.
Lovesick: is a mauve nude, dull medium tone plum/pink with cool undertones. This was my second pick after snatching up Lolita at the launch. This is such a safe and shade and will really look good on fair to medium skintones. It does look a lil chalky when first applied but with a good nude liner this shade has a lot of potential. Its one of my most worn shades from this brand. Also it looks different on every person. Applies beautifully and not patchy atall. Glides on and stays put.
Mother: is a medium dusty rose pink with cool undertones. Its my go-to pink shade, liquid lipsticks i think have changed the whole lip-game. So much easier to apply and also to carry around. Its a perfect pink for me personally as its not too bright but at the same time not too dark. Its glides on like butter and does not crack-up or get gloopy. This shade will look amazing on everybody in my opinion, its that versatile. Its got that cool undertone to it but has the ability to look warm on warmer undertones. Applies beautifully and looks amazing. Must have pink from the range.
Lolita: its a deep rusty rose brown with warm undertones. I do not need to say anything regarding this shade as many of you might have heard, read or owned if not all than atleast swatched this shade sometime since its release. If not than dnt fret i have got you covered. This shade is a beautiful chestnut neutral shade which is universally flattering. Whats more KVD is coming out with a peachier LOLITA this holiday season and you can order it from Sephora.com, that shade releases on NOV 5th 2015. This shade went on smooth and really stayed put. Looks amazing with almost all looks.Reapplies beautifully too. Another shade which looks diff on everybody. Great fall shade too. Must have.
L.U.V: is a bright magenta purple with pink and cool undertone. Its such a fantastic bold color. It does look a lil daunting in the tube and when swatched but trust me when its on your lips its a beauty! Such a vibrant shade and so so pretty for the wild child in all of us. I recently wore it to a fashion show and trust me everyone asked me what lipstick i was wearing got so many compliments on my instagram too. Its a lovely color for that statement lip! A must buy from my end. Its does require 2 coats to become opaque but still i am in LOVE with this color!
