Hello beautiful people! So day 5 of Oct and i am so stoked that i have kept up my promise of 'new blogpost everyday' for 5 whole days, ok i know its lame but still! I love writing so for me to be able to do this everyday is fantastic. Anywho getting on the review, today i will be reviewing the new SHIMMER POTS from MAXFACTOR that were launched last month and since then i have managed to acquire all the shades in the range. Some i love more than others but they all are Beauti-fuullll! Lets get on with the review shall we...
So there were around 5 shades released in the ME market and i am so stoked i got all of them, because after trying the 2 i initially bought i was hooked! The reviews were great and the product even more so. Now Maxfactor is no stranger to cult products and following so i was not surprised, i was excited that finally a drugstore brand has launched a fantastic cream product worth every penny! The shades i have are Pink Opal, Crystal, Copper,Bronze & Onyx. All are full cream except for Crystal & Onyx, these 2 shades have a considerable amount of glitter in them, which i am not a fan off and makes these 2 my least fav shadows out of the bunch. They do have the tendency to crease up if not given time to dry off or blend properly so beware. I usually use my MAC paintpot in Soft Ochre and then apply these on top, also a light-hand and application is important in my opinion for it to be crease-proof.
Pink Opal is a dual-chrome lilac shade with is full cream and looks amazing on top of shadows. Its blends beautifully and is so brightening as a inner corner highlight. Copper is a beautiful warm champagne shade which has a good amount of gold+brown in it, which makes it the most wearable shade out of the whole bunch, looks good on any skintone and blends beautifully. Again its a full cream shadow. Bronze is a beautiful warm tone 'bronze' (duh!) shade which is universally flattering in my opinion, anybody who is a neutral lover will def pick up this shade. Blends like a dream and is a full cream. Does not crease atall.
Crystal is the classic vanilla white shade with micro glitter in it which makes this hard to work with for me personally but i have read reviews of people who LOVE it! its great for adding that extra sparkle on top of shadows or just in the middle with patting motion. Again a light hand is a must with this one. Onyx is a deep black shade with silver glitter particles, this one again is not my fav one as the glitter is small but chunky, like one can def feel the texture when touched. The shade is beautiful though and would look amazing on any smokey-eye look. Just dab some on top and you are set to sparkle.
Surprise surprise, i decided to talk about the NEW lip glosses aswell as i thought it goes with the whole 'one brand new launches' things in my head! Anyways these glosses are reformulated and are more opaque than earlier, the shades i have are all neutral. So sadly on my skintone and pigmented lips they do not show up that well. One of the 'full cream' shade is beautiful though. Goes on so smooth and creamy i really like that one. The ones i have swatches for you are the 'glitter' shades which again i am not a fan off.
The shade Ravishing Raspberry is a mauve-pink glitter loaded lipgloss which is great for layerings. Will be a great addition for this fall. The shade Glossy Toffee is a bronzy glitter lip gloss and is great to wear on its own too. I have worn it quite a few times even though i am not a fan of the glitter. The glitter in both cases does stay back and gets stuck onto ones lips even when the gloss is all the way eaten or rubbed off! *aaargghh i hate that feeling*. The shade i do not have a swatch off which i absolutely adore is Pristine Nude which is a full cream lipgloss and i loved it. It was so comfortable and looked amazing worn on its own too. Absolutely brilliant.
